Introduction to our leadership development programmes

The ETF’s leadership development programmes, funded by the Department for º£½ÇÉçÇø, have been developed with key experts in the sector and from the world of leadership management.

This includes key partners such as Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and the Chartered Institute of Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Inclusive º£½ÇÉçÇø Coaching Programme

We are delighted to announce that we have commissioned AoC to offer the Inclusive º£½ÇÉçÇø Coaching Programme once again.

The Inclusive º£½ÇÉçÇø Coaching Programme aims to provide support to managers and leaders to continue achieving their professional objectives by equipping them with the tools to develop effective and inclusive leadership capacity through 1-2-1 coaching. 

The personal benefits of coaching are widely acknowledged to have a positive impact on individuals, supporting establishing and taking action towards achieving goals, becoming more self-reliant, and gaining more job and life satisfaction. Coaching has a powerful, positive impact on self-confidence, wellness, and work performance.

AoC are offering 7 x 1-hour virtual coaching sessions to 40 individuals to give additional support to those looking to make small but impactful changes in their teams and organisations as relates to equality, diversity and inclusion.  Participants will be supported and encouraged to work towards the achievement of an inspiring goal; identifying barriers and developing strategies to remove them.

The programme is free of charge to those working within an FE institution. 50% of the places will be reserved for those people from ethnic minority backgrounds who may face more challenges in the workplace to progress and make changes.

Leading Innovation Workshops

The ETF has launched a series of Leading Innovation º£½ÇÉçÇø for leaders in the FE and Skills sector to support across a range of themes to promote innovation and support leaders to implement and embed projects to improve outcomes.

Both the winter and summer series of the Leading Innovation º£½ÇÉçÇø will be delivered by sector experts, membership bodies and our trusted partners to bring you the best learning and CPD opportunities.

These one day face to face º£½ÇÉçÇø cover a range of topics, including:

  • Leading in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) world
  • Thinking Differently
  • Creating a Culture of Wellbeing
  • Successful Regional Partnerships (specific for leaders operating in Mayoral Combined Authorities MCAs)
  • Digital Pedagogy and Ed-Tech
  • Impactful Presentations

Additional online resources and courses

We have a range of online resources specifically aimed at Leaders, Chairs and Governors.

The resources are designed to supplement and support your professional practice and development by providing you with easy access to online resources on a range of topics relevant to leadership and management in the Further º£½ÇÉçÇø (FE) and Skills sector. These are aligned with the ETF’s º£½ÇÉçÇø Framework.
